What data we collect

When you sign up for a Rinse subscription or join our waitlist we collect the following personal information:

Your first name
Your email address
Your mobile phone number
Your home address including postcode
Your vehicle registration number and vehicle details
Your subscription plan selection
The date and time of your sign-up

We also collect payment information when you subscribe — however your card details are processed and stored securely by Stripe and are never seen or stored by Rinse directly.

How we use your data

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

To deliver our mobile car wash service to your address
To identify your vehicle on your driveway on wash day
To send you wash day reminders via SMS the evening before your visit
To send you an after-wash photo via SMS when your car is clean
To process your subscription payments via Stripe
To contact you about your subscription, including billing reminders
To notify waitlist customers when we launch in their area
To maintain our customer and route records in Airtable

SMS communications

By providing your mobile number during sign-up you consent to receiving SMS messages from Rinse. These include wash day reminders, after-wash photos, billing notifications and service updates. You can unsubscribe from SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message we send.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

Contract performance — processing your address, vehicle details and payment information is necessary to deliver the service you have subscribed to
Consent — we rely on your explicit consent for sending SMS marketing and service communications
Legitimate interests — maintaining accurate customer records and operating our route planning efficiently

Who we share your data with

We use a small number of trusted third party services to operate Rinse. Your data may be processed by:

Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Stripe privacy policy
Twilio — SMS delivery service. Twilio privacy policy
Airtable — customer database and operations management. Airtable privacy policy
Make.com — automation platform connecting our services. Make.com privacy policy
Netlify — website hosting. Netlify privacy policy
DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service — vehicle lookup to confirm your car details at sign-up

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with any party not listed above.

How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as you are a Rinse customer or on our waitlist. If you cancel your subscription we will retain your basic records for up to 2 years for accounting and legal purposes, after which they will be deleted. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access — you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate data
Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your personal data
Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
Right to data portability — you can request your data in a portable format
Right to object — you can object to us processing your data for direct marketing
Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to any SMS or emailing us

Cookies

Our website does not currently use tracking cookies or analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any third party tracking scripts. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary session cookies required for the website to function.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Our website is served over HTTPS. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe who are PCI DSS compliant. We do not store card details ourselves.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to active customers via SMS. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
